Five Recipes You Can Cook With Kids - Framed Recipes (2024)

I am totally a list person. Are you?

  • To-do Lists
  • Shopping Lists
  • Honey-to-do lists (but those are more or less ignored most of the time).

You get the idea? And if making individual lists was not enough, I also make a master list of all these lists🙂 .

Just because lists are FUN!

I do not know how I would survive without lists.

After I started blogging, I have started making an (endless)list of recipes that interest me, lists of recipes that I am (currently) researching, list of finalized recipes (to be photographed), andI also maintain a list of recipes published on my blog.

Mygeeky husband does not like that I still make all these lists on paper. And he finds it strange that even with my computer engineering background, I still rely on pen and paper! . My husband<shaking his head in disappointment> gets irked by the fact that he cannot search and find things, unlike in an excel sheet, in the lists I create on paper.

I understand him totally, and, I did try to keep the listorganized on my laptop and found it very inconvenient to login every time I needed a teeny thing. Then came the smart phone and the tablet. I use them more often these days than earlier, but then, I forget to charge them (I know what you are thinking now. Why doesn't she add the 'charge phone/tablet' to the list of things she has to do? I know! Note to self: try adding this to the list of things to do). But there have been a few instances (which are good enough for me to still rely on my trustworthy papyrus & pen), where my old laptop refused to boot up and we were saved by the paper copy of the list we had. Well, we had a tough time finding it from the pile of (growing) lists and figuring out the changes. But the bottom-line is it worked. Yeah!

When I saw this post on Food52and it involved lists, I could not help but make a list ofmy favorite things. Apart from coffee (which I do not function without), these would be my most favorite things.

Do you have a list of your favorite things? I would l-o-v-e to hear from you. Do let me knowin the comments.

Anyway, coming back to recipes, I have anamazing recipe round-up today. What is the reciperound-up theme? "Cook with kids". Here is a list offive recipes that you can cook with kids.[dt_quote type="pullquote" layout="right" font_size="h5" animation="none" size="2"]Preparing food is one of life's great joys, but a lot of times, parents ask their kids if they want to cook with them and then tell them to go peel a bag of potatoes. That's not cooking - that's working - Guy Fieri[/dt_quote] I have tried to get Sonshine interested in cooking for a long time now. Now that he is older andseeing us (my husband & I) work for the blog - shooting pictures, talking technicalities about the blog - Sonshine is taking cooking a weebit more seriously than before. My first few experiences to cook with him weretraumatic for both of us. I used togive him a menial task which was not challenging enough for him, and he would crib that it is no fun. Both of us would be trying to control each other and then in the end, both of us would be disappointed. I then realizedthatI have to let go, and let him be the cook. I am there just to guide him, to makesure he is safe from kitchen accidents and once he is done, I am ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the dish he prepared. This is the best approach that has worked for us.

Here is thelist of recipes that I promised. Click on the link or the title or the image and it will take you straight to the recipe.
